FUSER is where Inboxes meet. FUSER integrates all your online social accounts into one place that will let you manage your complex social lives. FUSER lets you read, respond, interact, and organize all your Facebook, Gmail, Twitter, Linked-in, and other accounts. Its wrapped in a sexy ajax UI and uses a java applet to screen scrape the users accounts and emulate their actions to synchronize things like read, flagged, status with their underlying service i.e. if a user moves a message in a Fuser folder Fuser will perform the same action on Gmail, Yahoo, etc.
I worked on all aspects of this project including client side and server side coding and the applet integration. I was especially proud of all my UI work and getting FUSER to switch over to ExtJS. I also did a lot of work on the server side ajax and web service integration that was running on .NET. It was a fun 2 year project and i miss working with all you guys! Go FUSER Go!

I got to work with the wonderful guys at Trakkware to help develop weleda USA site. Some of my contributions to the site, where interactive pages, video, and some AJAX magic. Trakkware’s state of the art custom CMS and hosting platform run on ASP.NET using C#. JANRAIN provides the User Management Platform for the Social Web that includes Social Login & Sharing, Social Profile Storage and Single Sign-On solutions. They’re one of the most inexpensive solutions to provide a turnkey social login and social sharing solution. They let users import their social network profile data, share, and invite their friends to visit your website. They offer other services like analytics, profile storage, badges and points. They have been around for a long time and started OpenID. I got a chance to build their NodeJS client so now, you can build NodeJS site that support Janrain! NewsGator the guys that brought you RSS. I was the Sr. software engineer for NewsGator Online and worked a many other projects ranging from NewsGator Enterprise solutions, Data services, and their voice and mobile projects. Can you say kitchen sink? It was so much fun to have the freedom to work on a variety of projects and work with incredible people. I miss my team and especially my manager Tim Walker and QA lead Katriana Hutchison. NewsGator transferred NewsGator Online to Googles Reader team. In any ones career you will work at a place that pushes and changes who you are and NewsGator was such a place I learned so much and now i can look back and thank all you guys especially Greg, J.B, and Kerin for all life lessons you taught me.
While working at NewsGator i got to sharpen my teeth on .NET, MSSQL, AJAX, HTML/CSS, SharePoint, SOAP, scaling large scale web2.0 applications, security, standers, parsing, and other stuff. NewsGator was primary a Microsoft shop and we got to work closely with the guys at Microsoft what a treat.

McKESSON Yes the leader in healthcare solutions. I worked on revamping their flag ship product that runs in most hospitals around the world. This GWT based application tracked and managed the hospital Rx’s. RxWriter handled prescription writing, drug interactions, patient discharge, reporting, complex insurance and administration rules. I worked on many parts of the UI and integration to legacy back end systems. At McKESSON I worked with some of the smartest and most talented Java developers I have ever worked with GWT was a treat for me also because my love of compilers and languages. At NewsGator I worked on Script# and now I am playing with LVM and coffeescript. Working on this project it help instill a better understanding of TDD and i got to work with selenium.
RxWriter was written in Java using GWT, Ext GWT, .NET, SOAP, hibernate, running under JBoss and jetty.
GitHub is arguably the coolest place for your open source projects. I love the way GitHub encourages developers to collaborate with each other. Fork, send pull requests and manage all your git repositories its that simple. I did not work on GitHub, but I contribute to the open source community! I love open source and think it’s a very important ecosystem and we need to supported. Join us that’s where all the cool kids hang out share, learn, teach, and meet really great people. New Media Group keeps me busy with developing and implementing internet based products and new emerging technologies with two petabytes of content and multiple distribution channels including Internet, Mobile, IPTV, and over the top Satellite and Cable boxes I never have a dull moment. As the principal developer my responsibilities cover planning, design, coding, and execution each project. I have successfully delivered a wide range of projects from deploying many payed sites, video delivery systems, dating sites, weather channel, custom CMS/workflow, batch processing, mobile sites, flash based games, just to name a few. Combined, our systems deal with big data, huge bandwidth and encoding requirements, complex work flows, automation, a heterogeneous environment, and multiple technology stacks. Including cutting edge technologies like NodeJS, NoSQL, cloud offerings, and geo target advertisement. I have successfully worked on SEO/SEM white and gray hat campaigns and supported multiple affiliate marketing backends. Its never a dull moment in the New Media Group!
SPATIAL is the silent giant in the CAD/CAM industry. Autodesk, Applicon, and over 600 companies rely on SPAIAL’s ACIS Modeler to do all their heavy lifting. SPATIAL provides most of the code that all the CAD/CAM companies use to do their modeling work. I worked on ACIS and ported the modeler to the NeXTSTEP platform. I also worked on getting the LightWorks working with Pixar ReaderMAN, and NeXT’s QRM. At the time i ported the largest block of C/C++ code to NeXTSTEP and worked with NeXT compiler group fixing the many GCC bug. What an exciting time in my life working with NeXT and Pixar. Steve Jobs was reinventing the personal computer and i was in the middle of it.
These where my golden years working on C/C++, Objective-C, ASM, NeXTSTEP, DPS, BSD, and other old timer stuff. Wow what memories and mom look at me now working on Web 2.0 stuff. I miss the old times do not you?
EntrustMTG the wild wild west of the later years. When I started working at Entrust revenues where around 3 million and when I left revenues where around 900 million. Wow what growth I started the automated underwriting software and workflow management software. I designed and built one of the first web based mortgage solutions. My software help grow the volume and stream lined the complex work flow of originating a loan to funding it. Boom to bust Entrust was acquired by one of the best lenders out there and does not exist.
Panasonic VIERA is the next generation of connected TVs. This project is in stealth mode right now so I cannot share details. I really believe in the future of connected TVs either from factory integrated or with an over the top box like Roku, Apple TV, etc. Stay tuned to find out how I am going to be working on shaping the world. 12 million TVs hahah
NeXT Computer & Renaissance? When the world was going to get remade. I worked on one of the first CAD/CAM applications on NeXTSTEP. I worked on many ground braking technologies and UI. Worked with Spatial, NeXT, Mathematica, and Pixar to build a 3D modeler. Its funny how technology can come full circle sometimes. In the late 90’s all the technology was written off as die and now its back in full force i.e. OSX and iOS. Its funny how i can feel nostalgic when looking at XCode. To me XCode will always be Interface Builder, and iOS is just NeXT white hardware and FAT binaries.
That time in my life i was a hardcore BSD UNIX developer, Objective-C, ASM, C/C++, Postscript, BSD, NeXTSTEP, Mountain Dew, and full of dreams.
In the hope of furthering my knowledge, I want to share my ideas and my passion for writing code and learn from all of you in return. In this blog, I plan to cover technologies I am working on including server and client side javascript, open source, cloud computing, design, the social web and more.
